The Ricardo Fisas Natura Bissé Foundation is featured in Issue 415 of Expertos en Estética magazine with an interview with Meritxell Solé, Executive Director of the Foundation, and Alicia Gil, aesthetic therapist for the Oncology Aesthetics Program.
We are very pleased to share, through this space, the essence of a project that for more than 16 years has been supporting people with cancer through specialized, safe, and free aesthetic care, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being.
During the interview, Meritxell and Alicia discuss the evolution of oncology aesthetics, the importance of specialized training for professionals in the sector, and the impact that care has on people undergoing cancer treatment. “Sometimes the most important thing is not what you do, but how you do it: listening, respecting silences, and adapting to how the person feels that day,” explains Alicia Gil.
The conversation also highlights the incorporation of oncology aesthetics into the Vocational Training curriculum for Personal Image studies, a key step for the Foundation and for continuing to normalize and professionalize this specialty.
Currently, the Foundation’s Oncology Aesthetics Program is present in more than 22 centers across Spain and is also developed in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. Since its beginnings, it has trained more than 1,600 professionals and supported more than 5,000 people through over 17,000 aesthetic treatments.
This feature in Expertos en Estética helps us continue raising awareness of the importance of support, listening, and care throughout the oncology process.
